Woke up and saw the Washington Post reported that NBC 4 Sports anchor George Michael died. I didnt even know he was battling cancer. I grew up watching NBC news at 6 when the folks got home watching him, Jim Vance, Doreen, and Bob Ryan. I loved staying up on Sundays to watch the sports machine with that epic highlight music and he was rocking a touch screen monitor back in 1989! The best part about The Sports Machine is that George reported WWF pay per view results on Sundays. I was never able to order pay per views as a kid so I would tune in to the Sports Machine to see if Hulk Hogan finally lost. If you grew up in the Tri-state area this is a very sad day.
