Welcome back to Mixtape Monday, Horriors!  I hope you all had a great and productive time destroying The Interwebz in my absence.  For this week’s installment of Mixtape Monday, I had a little trouble committing to one vibe.  Car alarms and wobbles weren’t my taste this morning.  Luckily, one of my homies dropped this (almost) two hour mix over the weekend that spans a rack of genre, so alas, my indecisiveness is rewarded yet again.

Yah Oh Yah, known by The Government as Scott Mitchell, is a DJ from the Ontario, Canada section of this here continent of North America.  He also writes for his blog, Fingers On Blast, so of course he’s got his finger on the pulse and is hip to all these new tunes that be hot in these Streetz of the Internet.

“You’re Going To Be Great” is a really fun two-hour exploration of some really quality music that’s been released within the past few years.  Most of the tracklist consists of new tunes from Baauer, Sleigh Bells, and Santigold but there are some old gems sprinkled within, including tracks from Bloc Party, Grizzly Bear, and The Weeknd.  As you can tell, “You’re Going To Be Great” spans tons of genres, from trap to dubstep to indie rock to hip-hop.  It’s all in there and it’s constantly switching vibes, so you’ll never be bored with this one.
