DJ Reed Rothchild

By embracing the crazed absurdity of the universe, two year old blog Head of Rothchild (HOR) makes sense of an increasingly surreal world. In covering comedy, food, music, fashion and culture past and present, Reed Rothchild and his contributing gang of quick on trigger gut busters bring the smiles and laughs. Bringing unique perspectives and original content, site head Rothchild says that HOR offers a “train accident and shitshow angle” to the ridiculousness on on the internet and beyond.

Sometimes you forget about steak and sizzle when a guy as hilarious as DJ Reed Rothchild is all about bacon and eggs. Pittsburgh born, Maryland residing and DC representing, decade-long spinner Rothchild is one of the nation’s most unique party starters. His unique and acerbic wit makes him the icing on the cake of any dance event, which has led to him being a popular resident DJ at multiple DC locales. However, that just merely scratches the surface. His genre shifting abilities include specialties in high energy genres including Baltimore club and moombahton as well as a strong top 40 background. This diversity has allowed him to be invited to play Baltimore’s famous Starscape festival and share bills with DJs including pop hero Skrillex. Furthermore, he’s spun alongside a who’s who of underground giants and dance superstars including Tittsworth, Scottie B, Boys Noize, Excision, Datsik, Willy Joy and Z-Trip. Setting a jet set national standard, he’s played in Seattle, Portland and San Francisco, and spent 2008 in Las Vegas as a highly touted member of the Indie Krush roster. Whether tossing bacon strips to ravers or documenting the most absurd extremes of the underbelly of society, Reed Rothchild is certainly off the beaten path, but still a top-tier professional.
