Sup yawl.  Happy spring.  I’m a walking Claritin Pill but WHO CARES it’s Mixtape Monday! Today over in DJ Ayres’ corner of The Intertron, this super rad live mix from Nadastrom and Sabo‘s tag team set at Moombahton Massive Brooklyn was posted up and it’s time to *~*vibe out*~*, yawl.  Let the sun go down and turn this mix UP because it’s gonna be just what you need you usher in whatever kinda Monday madness you’re gettin’ yourself into tonight (turn down for what???).

Seriously though.  You’ve probably seen Nadastrom and Sabo tear the roof off U Street Music Hall for their monthly Moombahton Massive parties, but this mix is a little different.  It’s a bit downtempo, hella chill, and just the right speed to get your body warmed up for the rest of the night.  This hour-long set is so seamless and it just goes to show you that bros stick together – these guys are like DJ soulmatez.  If you like what you hear right now, Nadastrom and Sabo will be running the show ALL NIGHT at U Street Music Hall this Wednesday, 4/24, for this month’s installment of Moombahton Massive!

No Tracklist.  Just viiiiiibes.  Enjoy!

Greatest Rap Beef you DON’T know about, Sub 0 VS Fendi

beeef I would love to say that I discovered this on my own using my elite youtube rap video sense but I have to give Quincy credit for putting me on to Rap beef DVD’s with old heads from New York.  One way you can tell these dudes are old blood is by how Fendi names 400 streets in New York that he came from.   Sub 0′s shirt is next level, looks like a Puerto Rican Day parade float.  They Sub 0 has girls in his video doing things. Squad.

So the dude Sub 0 is talking about in his DVD diss is Fendi from Brooklyn. He explains his side of the story which is even funnier. I can’t get enough of these. If you see any other ones like this, Please send them to me.

Mixtape Monday ft. “Carioca Bass Mixtape” by Zuzuka Poderosa

carioca bass

I’m off to Miami tomorrow for a long week of bass music, cuban sammiches, and binge drinking, so I’ma heat up Mixtape Monday today with a new mix from Brazilian vocalist, Zuzuka Poderosa.  She’s holdin’ it down in Brooklyn now but you bet she brought some of that tropical heat with her from Brazil.  Many close followers of moombahton, baile funk, and any other tropical musical stylings already know about Zuzuka, but if you’re not familiar yet, her “Carioca Bass Mixtape” is the most accurate depiction of what she’s all about.  It’s hot, heavy, and bursting at the seams with energy, much like her own personal characteristics.  She’s so funky, bright, and wild, I’m tempted to dub her as the M.I.A. of moombahton (sans all that heavy political shit).  Her sound is so fitting for the genere

The “Carioca Bass Mixtape” features tracks from Sany Pitbull, DJ Edgar, Slick Shoota, and tons of Zuzuka’s own productions.  Zuzuka mostly works with other producers in the same tropical spectrum to create these addictive bass tracks, over which she sings and raps in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.  Lots of these tracks sound like a hodge podge of many different tropical vibes but it all heavily relies on a Miami booty bass movement.  If it sounds out of control, that’s because it is.  “Carioca Bass Mixtape” and the entire Zuzuka Poderosa movement is enough to get yall hot and heavy no matter where you’re shakin it.
