New Years Eve at Rock & Roll Hotel

Just got a confirmation for a special H.O.R. New Years party at the Rock & Roll Hotel which one of the hardest places to get into on New Years. It has sold out every year since it opened. We are going to go more in depth and get to know some of the DJ’s as the date gets closer but in the meantime, I highly suggest you pull the trigger on getting tickets now. Don’t be on the outside looking in when the ball drops this year.

Get to Know H.O.R. Crew Member: Smudge

Pretty much money in the bank to say that there is only one Smudge and Luckily he happens to reside in our own backyard. I met this dude when I first moved back from Vegas and started spinning with him at Japone. All the older DJ’s in the city know that if you want to earn your DJ chops, you got to start off by putting in a few nights in over there. So in the spirit of taking care of the people who first put you on, I asked Smudge to be a contributor on the H.O.R. because the dude is a walking nostalgia temple of knowledge. If you ever step in his room it’s like entering a time machine, in a good way. From wrestling, fashion, music, and film, Smudge can tell you who won, who wore it, who played it, and who made a cameo in it. Not only does he DJ all over the city, but works at one of the best restaurants in the city, TOKI Underground.  Expect to have your mind blown with the old school feel good steez.

Prepare For Face Meltage with RSK! *HOR Exclusive*

RSK

If you’re trying to turn your brain into straight bass mush, I know who you gotta be chillin’ with this weekend.  Ricky Skullcrusha, aka RSK, from Pittsburgh, PA will be joining Smudge and The Baconator Himself, Reed Rothchild, at Velvet Lounge this Friday night for Keepin’ It Reel.

RSK’s arsenal of tunes are gonna fit right into the “anything goes” format that Smudge and Reed Rothchild have excelled at playing for their fellow party people of DC.  RSK cannot be limited to playing a single genre.  While he will spin anything from juke to drumstep and moombahton to Baltimore club, he’s especially known for his talents within the heavy bass arena of dubstep.  Take a quick tour of his SoundCloud page and you’ll hear an abundance of sounds ranging from video game noises to wobbly bass to hip-hop vocals.  Also, check out this track he created with Doctor P – “Black Books”.  This track has tons of mainstream exposure so I’d be real surprised if you haven’t heard it by now.  In fact, I’d be surprised if you haven’t seen RSK takeover your city yet.  He’s shared stages with Dieselboy, 12th Planet, Borgore, and Skrillex, to name a few.  But this weekend he’s gettin’ down and dirty in the shitshow we like to call DC.

To celebrate RSK’s touchdown into Our Nation’s Capital, we’ve got a supa sweet and exclusive drumstep track for ya – LL Cool J – “I’m Bad” (RSK Remix).  ”I’m Bad” is majorly wobbly update on LL Cool J’s original from the 80s.  Don’t hurt yaselves with this one.  Pro-tip:  You’ll really get into it if you put on your best Addidas jumpsuit and a supa stanky bassface.

Head of Rothchild Exclusive, download: LL Cool J – “I’m Bad” (RSK Remix) HERE

So!  This Friday!  Put on ya bassface, wasteface, and any other weird afflictions you might wanna show off for the party people and get out there to Velvet.  Reed’s makin’ rave bacon.

Keeping it Reel at Velvet this Friday

Really stoked to be playing at Velvet Lounge this Friday for my Pittsburgh Homie Dianna Loevner.  It’s at Velvet plus it’s Smudge and I so you already know the high calibur shit show that we bring to the table.  Also, the dude RSK is coming in from Pittsburgh to spin, drink, and high five everybody.  We’re going to have more  on Rsk this week as he will be dropping an exclusive Drumstep joint on the H.O.R.  If that doesnt get you excited to come out, I will have small bags of RAVE BACON and if you ask nicely you will be rewarded with a swine treat.

Make sure to RSVP on the EVENT PAGE

Moombacon Massive

Exciting news!  Nobody died!  But I heard super high cholesterol and clogged arteries are silent killers and something you won’t discover until it’s way too late and you’re lying on a cold hospital stretcher surrounded by strange doctors who have no idea what to do with your fat, dying heart.  With that being said, it wouldn’t be Reed Rothchild’s Birthday Celebration if it didn’t include twenty-two pounds of bacon, sixty pieces of assorted fried chicken parts, and racks on racks on raaacks…of ribs.  I made it out of Moombacon Massive alive with great news:  bacon, fried chicken, and ribs all taste better when they are consumed in the club.  Just as I thought.  Thank the Holy Rothchild.

Made from 100% Douchebag Tears

Just in case any of us were concerned with a healthy heart, which I doubt any of us were because our brains were sloshing around our skulls in a pool of PBR and Ed Hardy Champagne, we were able to work off a lot of those calories on the dance floor.  Lucky for us, Reed Rothchild compiled a super official line-up of some of his dopest DJ friends to keep everything rage-tastic.

DC!!!

Once everyone was well-fed and on their way to optimal intoxication, DC’s Denman (Destination), Baltimore’s Uncle Jesse (Crossfaded Bacon) and James Nasty (Physical Education) built up the night to its pinnacle with some of their finest dubstep, moombahton, and Baltimore club tunes.  Then Baltimore’s King Tutt and Scottie B (Unruly Records), Keenan & Smudge (R&R), and Reed Rothchild himself straight killed the latter part of the evening with MOAR BANGERS.

Hopefully we’re all still alive next year to celebrate Reed Rothchild’s born-day with more gr33zy, fried foods.  But until then, keep your eyes on Head of Rothchild for more details about our forthcoming Internet Takeover.

OOOYEAH! This Sunday at Dodge City

DOPE design by Lucas Smudge

Somewhere up in heaven right now the Macho Man Randy Savage is climbing atop a gold turn buckle where he begins to point upwards. He lifts off soaring close to thirty stories high in the air. When he hits his peak, his arms expand and his chest goes out, at the same time a golden “M” appears behind him. A bonfire starts on his right elbow lighting up the entire solar system. He begins his descent going at a speed of 400 mph thrusting down towards the ring. SMASH!!! He drops the elbow right through the chest of Jon Benet Ramsey plummeting her straight down to hells basement where she rightfully belongs. The only thing left in the middle of the ring is a black circle. To the right of it is a bloody cowboy hat with a small match flame burning on one side. Good has triumphed over evil once again. This triumph is spelled S-A-V-A-G-E.

This Sunday DJ Smudge and I give a proper send off to a man who has entertained billions of us world wide. For fucks sake, I used to pull my sox over my sweatpants and jump off my dresser across the room onto my bed landing an elbow to a helpless pillow. In the spirit of the times Smudge and I are going to be dropping your favorite classics from the 80′s and 90′s. Back when times where a lot easier, a lot more chill, but a lot more Savage.

So if your in the city this weekend please stop by and jam out with us while Smudge and I get naughty on the decks, eating Slim Jims, and showing thanks to man who originated Madness. DIG IT!

Dodge City – 917 U St (between N 9 1/2 St & N Vermont Ave)
