What up, yall! It’s ya lil homie, Stoop Girl, here with some mid-day mixtape madness! I know Mondays are like, supa hard and all but I’m here to save you from killin’ all your coworkers. I present to you, Mixtape Monday, where I’ll be spotlighting my favorite mixes that will be sure to get you through the week, or at least until lunchtime. Feel free to hit me up in the comments or email me at heycoolbreezy@gmail.com to send me love notes or tip me off to some good mixes. Original productions are also welcome! But as always, it’s gotta be Stoop-Approved. I only swim in the dope end of the music pool, ya feel me?!
So, for the first edition of Mixtape Monday, I’ve got this sick Baltimore club mix from a long lost member of Baltimore’s DJ and production team, Uncle Jesse. Right now, Uncle Jesse consists of Quincy and Cian, and you’ve probably seen them running shit at those massive Steez Promo raves or gettin’ real slow and sexy at Dave Nada’s Moombahton Massives. But back in 2006-2007, they were a tripod of dopeness with another member known as Supa Dave (the dude in the middle of the photo above). He’s not DJing out in the scene too much anymore but he’ll always be considered Uncle Jesse fam. Either way, the kid is certified-dope.
Grab the Henny!!! With this mix, I want you to have a little taste of my city of Baltimore, The (self-proclaimed) Greatest City in America. If I were to introduce somebody new to the sounds of Baltimore, I would most likely start with this mix. In fact, they should probably start handing this out when you enter the city limits. For now, just consider this “Required Listening”. Supa Dave curated this mix back in 2003 but this shit still holds up as if it were just made yesterday. It’s pumpin’ all the necessary classics, like DJ Technics’ “Single Ladies”, DJ Class’ “Tear Da Club Up”, and Rod Lee’s “Feel Me”. If you’re already familiar with Baltimore club music, this mix is touting a lot of songs you’ve probably heard before. But now you’ve got all your favorite Baltimore club tracks all in one place. Supa Dave’s mixing is supa tight and in true Baltimore club fashion, the bass is knockin’!! Check the tracklist and you’ll see a ton of Rod Lee and Technics tracks and bit less of Scottie B representation but it’s all good because this shit still bangs. This Baltimore Club Mix is gonna give you way more energy than those dumbass 5 Hour Energy Shots and this is free so trust me when I say you need this in your collection. It’s for the greater good!! So download it, tell your friends, and stay tuned for next week.
